IPA London North Members Welcome New Recruits To The Metropolitan Police Service in a social event in London Liverpool Street.
On the 20th of June 2014 the Metropolitan Police welcomed its latest batch of new recruits who have taken the Oath to serve and protect the public.
The Passing Out Parade held at the Metropolitan Police’s Hendon Training Centre welcomed the Vancouver Police Pipe Band who played whilst the proud recruits marched in front of friends and family.
IPA London North member Constable Smith was one of the officers passing out and he described the day as being “one of the best days of his life”. A former Special Sergeant within the Metropolitan Police this parade marked the start of his journey as a regular officer and the challenges that role presents him. To welcome him into the role IPA members joined him to celebrate.
Members joined Constable Smith and around five or six of his of his colleagues who had also passed out. They travelled from within London, from Hertfordshire and even as far as from Sussex.
It was a very enjoyable evening and it was good to speak with officers who had never heard of the International Police Association. Those I spoke with were very interested in the IPA and said that they would certainly be looking to join.
The IPA is all about friendship amongst the international police service. If you are not an IPA member please view our website at http://www.ipa-uk.org and see how joining us will benefit you.
